Cap size guide

A good fit supports comfort, confidence and the way a style sits. Take a few minutes to measure before choosing, and use the exact product information when it is available.

Take your measurements

Use a soft tape measure and keep it comfortably close to the head without pulling it tight. Record the circumference around the hairline, behind the ears and around the nape. For a fuller picture, measure from front hairline to nape, ear to ear across the forehead, and ear to ear over the crown.

Measure more than once if you are unsure. If you wear your natural hair underneath, measure in the way you are most likely to prepare it for wearing the piece.

Use product-specific sizing

There is no universal cap standard. Terms such as small, medium or large can differ between products, and adjustment methods may not create the same fit for everyone. Compare your measurements with the size information supplied for the exact item.

If a product does not show confirmed cap dimensions, do not assume a standard size will work.

Know the signs of a good fit

A well-fitting cap should feel stable without pain, pinching or excessive pressure. It should not slide easily, create a distracting ridge, or require force to stay in place. A little careful adjustment can be normal; persistent discomfort is not something to ignore.

Fit can change with hairstyle, braiding, scalp sensitivity and the accessories used underneath. Make any adjustments gradually and take a break if the piece feels too tight.

Plan your first fitting

Try a new piece in a calm moment with clean, dry hair and good light. Start with a simple placement, check the position around the ears and nape, then make only the adjustments permitted by the product instructions. Avoid cutting, altering or permanently changing a product before you are satisfied with the fit and have checked the returns terms that apply.

If you are unsure about measuring or need an adaptive fit, a trained wig specialist may be able to offer individual guidance.

Comfort is the priority

A flattering style should never rely on discomfort. Choose a construction and routine that work with your day, especially if you expect to wear the piece for long periods. Give yourself permission to favour ease, even when a different look is tempting.

Questions about cap construction, measurements and adjustment are best answered with confirmed information for the item you are considering.
